SVS: Society of Visual Storytelling
This Last semester I got to take a course from Illustrator Will Terry at UVU. We covered the principles of design, the business side of Illustration, how to improve personally and other topics. He helped each student become better no matter their level of skill. He also showed us parts of his lessons at svslearn.com of which he and Jake Parker are business partners (I now have one of these SVS lessons and it's great). It is dependent on you putting in the work but that should go without saying. If you are serious about learning I wholeheartedly recommend these courses for your consideration if they cover topics you are interested in.
Each lesson has video tutorials some have royalty free materials, critiques and for certain lessons live streaming help with your work. Will Terry teaches some of the courses and Jake Parker Teaches others and some are split between them. There is also a Painting Fur lesson taught by Therese Larsson aka and a Z Brush Sketching lesson with Jose Cua.
Just wanted to share this for the benefit of the artists involved and the community.
I hope you have a Great One

Useful Resources for Artists... 2
So for those of us who draw/paint, write/type, and game (especially more than the average person) you need to stretch out your arms/hands regularly. These stretches not only help if or when you get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome they can also work to prevent it from occurring.
Useful Resources for Artists... 1
Some useful and fun resources that I thought I should get written somewhere before I lose/forget them.
(the version of the book typically doesn't matter)
Books:Design Basics by David A. Lauer/Stephen Pentak The first isn't about drawing/painting techniques but the principles/rules of design: Unity, Emphasis and Focal Point, Scale and Proportion, Balance, Rhythm, Line, Shape/Volume, Pattern and Texture, Illusion of Space, Illusion of Motion, Value, and Color. This is perhaps the most import part of art and it is shocking how few artists, including professionals, are consciously aware of them.

How my Gesture Drawing Class Works
So I am taking Gesture drawing for a second time. Why? It was AMAZING, never underestimate gesture drawing you learn so much. The First or Second day of last semester my Professor showed our class this video saying that this is what he wanted us to do:
Warning: Very Mild Nudity - If you are going to do art you should probably get used to it - just saying

I love this animation so much and am excited to be taking the class again.
Also share this video it really is absolutely fantastic and the creator(s) deserve some love. :)
Have a good one.
Art Principles: Line, Shape/Notan, Value
Been asked this multiple times, but since I'm really busy I thought I could write up a journal to refer people to. This is mostly advice for beginners, however, the Principles of design are important for all artists.
1 - Draw. Draw what you love, draw what you hate. Draw characters, places, things, monsters. Draw from life, draw from your imagination, and when you get sick of it, take a break; go outside see the sights, be adventurous, be hungry to learn new skills, then go back and draw some more.
2 - Skill takes time and experience so don't get too frustrated. If you ever have such thoughts or feelings teach them to push you to becom
